A total of 13 women attended this session. The session featured an engaging and informative talk by Dr. Dattaram Gawas, who spoke on the crucial topics of maternal health and diet. Dr. Gawas, who holds an MBBS, DGO, and DNB in Obstetrics and Gynecology, is a highly regarded consultant in his field. Dr. Gawas provided insights into the nutritional needs of pregnant and postnatal women, stressing the importance of a balanced diet for both maternal and baby health. He also shared practical advice on managing the challenges of pregnancy, labor, and postpartum recovery, ensuring women receive the care and support needed at each stage. Following the talk, participants were invited to engage in a yoga session led by Ms. Akshata Halarnkar, an esteemed yoga practitioner, who has been a state gold medalist for seven consecutive years and has represented Goa at the national level on eight occasions, guided the women through a series of yoga poses, breathing exercises, and workouts specifically designed to address the unique needs of pregnancy and post-delivery recovery. Her session emphasized maintaining body awareness, managing weight, and promoting overall fitness during and after pregnancy, ensuring that each participant received personalized attention and support to enhance their well being. At the conclusion of the event, we took a moment to express our sincere gratitude to each participant by presenting them with fruit bearing saplings. This thoughtful gesture was more than just a gift, it was a symbolic representation of growth and nurturing. The saplings served as a meaningful reminder of the parallels between cultivating plants and nurturing children. Just as the saplings will need care and attention to flourish, so too will the children benefit from the love and support of their parents. By gifting these saplings, we aimed to inspire participants to continue fostering growth and development in their own lives and in their families, creating a lasting legacy of care and commitment. Srishti Hosmani 3. Rtr. Khushi Raibagi 4. Rtr. Ananya Allappanavar Duration: 4 Days (4th Oct to 7th Oct) The IDYE to the Rotaract Club of Anjar, RID 3055, was a remarkable experience that allowed us to immerse ourselves in the rich culture, traditions, and warmth of Gujarat. The exchange not only brought us closer to the Rotaractors of the Anjar region but also allowed us to experience local food, festivals, and customs, building connections that will last a lifetime. Day 1 - Arrival and Cultural Immersion We reached Anjar early at 5 AM, and were warmly hosted by Rtr. Nidhi Ahir, who made us feel at home right away. The day began with an authentic Gujarati breakfast of jalebi and fafda, setting the tone for a day filled with local delights. We had lunch at Armata, a well-known Gujarati restaurant, and explored the cultural heritage by visiting the Vande Mataram Memorial. The day closed with a taste of street food for dinner, followed by an evening Garba event hosted by the Rotary Club of Bhuj. Here, we interacted with Rotaractors and Rotarians, gaining insights into their activities and fostering fellowship. Day 2 - Exploring Local Heritage and Fellowship Events The second day kicked off with another delightful Gujarati breakfast before heading to the Ambedam Temple, followed by a Kathiyawadi lunch at a restaurant owned by the President of the Rotaract Club of Mandvi. The afternoon was spent exploring the Vijay Vilas Palace and watching a serene sunset at Mandvi Beach. Later, we attended a Zonal Garba event where we mingled with Rotaractors from various clubs, sharing experiences and learning Garba dance steps. The day concluded with a pool party at The Fern Resort, hosted by the Anjar club, allowing us to bond further with local Rotaractors. Day 3 - Scenic Views and Grand Garba Night After a relaxing breakfast at the resort, we visited the Ashapura Temple, enjoying the peaceful hilltop views. The evening brought a highlight of the trip: attending India's largest Garba event at The Villa in Kutch. Surrounded by the vibrant energy of the festival, we joined thousands in this grand celebration. A midnight snack and a drive along the scenic "Road to Heaven" rounded off an unforgettable day. Day 4 - Local Market and Farewell On our final day, we witnessed a breathtaking sunrise at the "Road to Heaven," a fitting end to our journey. We then explored Anjar's local market, where we admired the traditional Bandhani and Ajrak print textiles, shopping for local sweets and savories. In the afternoon, we headed to Gandhidham to catch our train back to Hubli, carrying back memories and gifts that will keep this experience alive. Conclusion This IDYE has been one of the most memorable experiences for all of us. We not only explored the beautiful landscapes and vibrant culture of Gujarat but also built friendships and connections that we will cherish forever. The warmth and hospitality of our hosts, combined with the thrill of Garba nights and exploring local heritage, have made this exchange truly special. We look forward to future exchanges that continue to strengthen the bonds within the Rotaract community.
